HEIMSPIEL # 23: D. COOPER feat. DESMOND GARCIA & DONNA STOLZ
27. April | Kick-Off: 8.30 p.m.
@ Alter Roter Löwe Rein | Richardstr. 31 | 12043 Berlin
On April 27th Home is where your stereo plays returns to the cozy stage of Alter Roter Roter Löwe Rein for HEIMSPIEL # 23. The upcoming concert hosts the Berliners D. Cooper and Desmond Garcia with a small opening by Donna Stolz.
East-Frisia is located in (Northern-)America. This is at least one of the musical associations one may get, when listening to D. Cooper’s songs. Praised as the “Neil Young of East-Frisia” (Ran Huber, amStart) Detlef Kuper alias D. Cooper makes sentimental roadmusic and takes us on a joyride around the American singer/songwriter traditions like Folk, Americana and Country.
D. Kuper received a certain prominence in early 90ies, when starring in the Frisian Samurai motion picture „Frankie, Jonny und die Anderen“. Since his move from the northern countryside to Berlin, music is his primarily creative outlet. He writes laconic, minimalistic but powerful songs, which he releases via his own label Kruiden Records. At HEIMSPIEL # 23 D. Cooper will receive support by One-Man-Band-Wonder Desmond Garcia accompanying his songs with Lap-Steel-Guitar.
Donna Stolz will take you to meet wolves in a dark forest. Be careful, you might lose your way. There is a guitar and a voice that has teeth and words. Each word is like a bone-white-drift-wood waiting to be examined. Each song a place you will long to return to.
