HEIMSPIEL # 26: VAGUE & MARIE REITER
11. July | Kick-Off: 8.30 p.m.
@ Alter Roter Löwe Rein | Richardstr. 31 | 12043 Berlin
Concert series HEIMSPIEL is teaming up for the last edition before the summer break. The upcoming concerts features a special acoustic set by Austrian five-piece band Vague. The evening at Alter Roter Löwe Rein will be opened by Belgian born and now Berlin based singer/songwriter Marie Reiter.
The latest (Indie-)Pop sensation comes – what a surprise – from Vienna and is called Vague. One who expects another Austro-Pop hit wonder like Wanda or Bilderbuch finds him-/herself on the wrong track. The three vocalists Konstantin Heidler, Gabriel Hyden and Simon Dallaserra of the five-piece band present their songs in English covered in guitar and beat driven tunes.
Their music can be described as „80ies style in good“ (ARTE TRACKS). Their critically acclaimed debut album In the meantime, released in April 2016 via Siluh Records, combines styles like post-rock, indie-pop and shoegaze and provokes associations to grandees like Joy Divison, Tame Impala and Stone Roses. Their recently released single Corner gives a pre-taste to their upcoming record, which they will more than likely also present within their special acoustic set at the upcoming HEIMSPIEL.
Born and raised in Bruxelles Marie Reiter recently moved to Berlin, where she released her first album Nazareth on tape in January 2017. It features beautiful pop-tracks, which are partly dreamy, folky and at the same provide a dancy beat. Marie’s voice and music oscillates somewhere around Azure Ray, Nancy Sinatra and FKA twigs.
