HEIMSPIEL # 5: Apples in Space
January 19th | kick-off: 8.30 p.m.
@ Alter Roter Löwe Rein | Richardstr. 31 | 12043 Berlin

Just as last year Home is where your stereo plays is delighted to host its concert series HEIMSPIEL at Alter Roter Löwe Rein in Neukölln-Rixdorf. On January 19th German-Norwegian Folk-duo Apples in Space will perform at HEIMSPIEL # 5.

To be, or not to be, that is the question. – And it’s truly an essential one to which Phil Haußmann and Julie Mehlum aka Apples in Space may have an answer. Eventually the two have already been confronted with the subject of existence: within the movie Hai-Alarm am Müggelsee (shark warning at Müggelsee) they fall prey to the greedy shark. Before deceasing they fortunately find the time to perform their song Vespa, which very much appealed to director and Element of Crime singer Sven Regener.

In March 2013 Apples in Space joined Element of Crime on an extended tour around Germany as their opener – including a five-day-set at sold out Lido. Along the tour they recorded their 2nd EP The Never Read Letter with the help of Sven Regener. And it came to a further collaboration, when working on the soundtrack to an episode of detective series Polizeiruf 110 being screened in public TV channel ARD.

Till January 30th 2014 Apples in Space will be on stage at Berliner Ensemble to perform their own music and cover songs within Leander Haußmann’s production of Hamlet. To be, or not to be, that is the question.
