HEIMSPIEL # 6: Allie & Ich, Alexander
16th February | Kick-off: 8.30 p.m.
@ Alter Roter Löwe Rein | Richardstr. 31 | 12043 Berlin
HEIMSPIEL at half time! On February 16th Home is where your stereo plays is inviting you to its sixth concert at Alter Roter Löwe Rein. HEIMSPIEL # 6 is featuring a double delight: Allie & Ich, Alexander.
Fog rises, as soon as Allie is entering the stage and tuning in. With the help of a fog machine and his guitar he literally engulfs people in his music. Likewise the artificial fog his music is described as being “sugary, sad and tacky“ (Tine Ohlau, byteFM). The vocals are often whispery but together with loops and samples make up a multilayered sound.
Allie is creating music since 2009. He took his first recorded demo with him to New York where he was interning in 2010 to spread his music at various Open Mic events. His latest album was released via the Hamburg-based label Clouds Hill and is received enthusiastically by the music press.
Somewhere in between Berlin and Dresden, that´s where Herzberg is located. The self-proclaimed stronghold of stoner rock is Alexander Günter´s hometown. Already during his highschool time he produced self-made songs and videos under the moniker of Ich, Alexander and shared them on the internet. “Smart, chiseled songs“ (Mario Cetti, K&F Records) that probably precisely because of that found open ears and hearts within the Dresden-based music collective Kumpels & Friends.
A couple of years delayed Alexander´s debut album Das Gegenteil von dem was du denkst was released in 2013. It contains seven songs about “rage, forgiveness, and resignation. Somewhere in between American Recordings, Postrock, Berliner Schule, the early Tocotronic” and most certainly also clickclickdecker.
