HEIMSPIEL # 10: Nïer & Shitwolf
9. October | Kick-Off: 8.30 p.m.
@ Alter Roter Löwe Rein | Richardstr. 31 | 12043 Berlin
On October 9th Home is where your stereo plays happily returns to Alter Roter Löwe Rein for the 10th edition of its regular-irregular concert series HEIMSPIEL. HEIMSPIEL # 10 will feature Berlin based Nïer and Shitwolf who will conquer the cozy stage in Neukölln-Rixdorf.
Nïer – that’s guitar, loop-pedal, a bit of reverb and Nikolai Albers distinctive voice. After years as a band member of Psychadelic/ Krautrock-Band The Vagabond Stories he moved from Stuttgart to Berlin, where he’s performing as a solo artist ever since. On his debut album River the young musician proves that less can truly be more. Nïer creates fine tuned soundscapes, which are somewhere in the scope of chilly club-electronica and gentle songwriting. His songs are inspired by the vibrant life of the big city and by nature.
Shitwolf is the creative outlet of Gabriel Garcia – born and raised in the (Post-) Reagan-Era and musically socialized by the LoFi-Indie of the nineties such as Sebadoh, Guided by Voices and Elliot Smith. After participating in various band projects and his subsequent move to Berlin he has been working on own songs or ‘audio postcards’, as he calls them. With a 4-track tape recorder he puts together his LoFi serenades and sends them out as mixtapes. His appearance at HEIMSPIEL is one of the rare possibilities, to see him perform live. It’s quite possible, that he will receive support by fellow musicians – even if it’s just by his highness Elliot Smith as an aid from above.
